I am pleased to announce my participation in Setouchi Art and Industry 2026, an inaugural art festival debuting this autumn across seven industrial venues in Okayama and Ehime.
This festival explores the fusion of regional industry and contemporary art, exhibiting works within active manufacturing “sites”—including those of the sea, shipbuilding, energy, and salt production—that have long sustained the Setouchi region.
For my contribution, I will present a salt-based installation at Naikai Salt Industries Co., Ltd. in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture. I look forward to welcoming you all to the venue.

The venue is an old warehouse standing beside the sea. It was built when salt was still a government monopoly in Japan, and its interior has been renovated into a space that feels like a contemporary tea room.
Inside, the warehouse opens into a room of pure white. In one corner is a low entrance, like the nijiriguchi of a tea house. Passing through it, you find yourself in complete darkness, and there my work emerges out of the dark.
